Matted flax-lily (pictured) was once widespread throughout Victoria, but is now only present in isolated pockets throughout the landscape. Matted flax-lily is ecologically important as it is a source of food and shelter for native animals.
Help re-introduce these rare plants and a selection of other native wildflowers, into Whittlesea’s reserves by volunteering on Endangered Species Day.
Please wear sturdy shoes and bring a hat and rain coat if required. Tools and gloves supplied. Morning tea will be provided.
