Grasslands tour with a focuson summer-flowering wildflowers and management. Meet at corner Liberty Parade and Dougharty Road, West Heidelberg

We invite you to come to the Parklands room called theGleeson Centre at the Darebin Parklands, at the very eastern end of SeparationStreet in Alphington.

We are going hybrid as well and if you can’t makeit in person there will be a Zoom option.

We have invited Dr Graeme Hamilton (currently, ExecutiveOfficer of the Darebin Creek Management Committee) to speak about his volunteerwork as the President of the Invasive Species Council.

If you come to the meeting it will be approximately 1 hour,we can then have some social time together, and it could be a great opportunityto walk down and see the new fish way built by Melbourne Water.

It is an important support to fish traveling upstream withthe stone pillars arranged to provide a place to rest as the fish then approachthe next part of their journey.

It is always great to meet in person so we hope you can makeit in person, there will be some light refreshments as well!

We’re back in the saddle for more cleanups. To start the year off, we’re returning to one of our most productive sites of 2022 – the end of Water Road, Preston.

For those who love building the nest boxes that are installed along the creek, Tom from Banyule Council bush crew is leading another event.

Where: Southern Road Wetland. The best entry point to the reserve is the corner of Liberty Pde and Gona St. The location will be roughly 300m north of this entry point. Follow the signs.

What: Join Banyule’s Park Rangers to build nesting boxes for local wildlife including Krefft’s Gliders, insects & spiders, and kookaburras.

All tools and equipment will be provided. As the event will beheld outdoors, enclosed shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a drink bottle are recommended.
