As part of the Revegetating Darebin Creek Project, the Friends have planted thousands of shrubs and grasses in Arch Gibson Reserve, in Dunne St, Kingsbury, with the intention of bringing back small woodland birds.

An important task now is to tend and protect these plantings, by regular weeding, mulching and removing guards.

This happens at a regular working bee, held on every second Sunday of the month, where volunteers also enjoy morning tea, a chat and the chance to hear from people with expertise on the issues affecting the creek.
