Join the Friends of Darebin Creek and the City of Whittlesea for a day of planting to learn more about our waterways and help restore habitat for small woodland birds!
Come along and help us revegetate the banks of the Darebin Creek! Following the huge success of National Tree Day, we’re planting even more along Norris Banks parklands. Meeting near McLeans Road Dog Park.
About this event
Did you know that over 100 species of bird have been recorded along Darebin Creek? Unfortunately, many small bird species are being outcompeted due to a lack of available habitat. The Friends of Darebin Creek (FoDC) in partnership with the City of Whittlesea are attempting to rejuvenate these areas, by planting critically important plant species along the creek over the next few years.
The planting will begin at 10am and finish up at 12pm. There will also be some guided walks along the Darebin Creek for those wanting to learn more about our wonderful waterways.
