Join the Friends and Darebin Creek Management Committee to mark National Tree Day by helping to plant 2,500 indigenous seedlings. Play a part in restoring the creek and providing habitat, shelter, food and safe passage for wildlife such as small woodland birds, Krefft’s gliders and Powerful Owls by planting native trees, shrubs and grasses. The plants will also help improve water quality and reduce erosion, benefiting native fish and aquatic life.

Activities on the day include: Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony – Planting native species to create wildlife habitat – Building fish motels – learn how to construct fish habitat – Exploring local nest boxes – Drawing native plants at a Draw Plants Together workshop.

A great opportunity to help the environment, connect with like-minded people, improve your health and wellbeing and deepen your connection to Country.
