Join the Friends and Darebin Council’s bush crew for a nature walk & talk and a citizen science ‘bioblitz’ – or snapshot study – of this interesting creek-side location, where we hope to continue the restoration of natural vegetation begun in the 1980s.
Come along and spot plants and animals – hopefully including tawny frogmouths – that share our creeklands while learning from Darebin council’s natural resource management team how to use the iNaturalist system – described as “crowd sourcing for nature” – to record and share sightings.
To get the most from the event download the iNaturalist app to your smartphone and create your personal profile* beforehand.
We ask as usual that you wear sturdy footwear, long pants, hat, sunscreen, and/or rain protection and bring water, and that you stick around for a coffee or tea and a chat with us afterwards.
(*Thanks to Nillumbik Landcare Network for introductory iNaturalist user guide)
